Dean's Challenge: Community Service

I challenge all Honors College students and members of the Honors living learning community, in particular, to serve a campus, civic, intellectual, or creative community in any way you choose this semester.   Let’s work together to make the worlds we want to live in.  And let’s start now!

·         Log your projects and hours and report them to Tracia Banuelos in the college office or by email to HonorsUGFellow@wichita.edu.
·         For sustained service of 25 hours, you will earn a certificate from the dean.  For service of more than 25 hours, earn a certificate and an Honors College mug.  Awarded at the end-of-year ceremony on May 15th.

Thanks to Tracia for inspiring this idea. Remember you can mentor and play with kids from the Fairmount neighborhood at Fairmount Go-Zones every Saturday.  Check out the chalkboard in the Honors lounge for additional community service opportunities.  For more options in the Wichita area, visit http://www.volunteermatch.org/.
